Blue is the sequel to Black and the 4th entry in Bart Bonte's colour series. It was released on June 19, 2019 on mobile and September 5, 2019 on browser.
Overview[]
This game won the 2019 Belgian Game of the Year award. It also has the highest rating of Bonte's color series on the App Store in the US (apart from the new Orange).
Levels[]
NOTE: hints may be modified from their original description or left out because they are not very helpful.
1 (On Browser)[]
Hint 1: Push the button.
Hint 2: Push the button 5 times.
As the above hints say, you have to press the button in the centre a total of five times.
2 (On Browser)[]
Hint 1: Pull.
Hint 2: Pull the cork.
Swipe the light blue cork down to release the seal on the pipe. This will make the screen overflow with water to complete the level.
3 (On Browser)[]
Hint 1: Hang the 3.
Hint 2: Hang the 3 on the hook.
Place the number 3 on the hook in the ceiling, then wait as the ceiling will slowly lower to complete the level.
4[]
5 (4 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Free the fish, a fish swims to the side it is facing.
Hint 2: Click on the fish that can swim away.
Click the 16 fish on the screen for them to swim off the screen. The direction a fish faces indicate the direction they will swim. For example, a fish facing right will swim right when clicked on.
6 (5 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Push the button to change direction.
Hint 2: Push the button, fill the screen.
Press the button in the centre to start a flashing blue trail that will go upwards. Then, pressing the button again will cause the trail to turn 90 degrees clockwise to the right. It will then continue that way until the button is pressed again. Repeat the process until all the pixels in the screen have turned blue.
7 (On Browser)[]
Hint 1: Click and hold the screen to turn.
Hint 2: Catch all white triangles.
Hint 3: Click right/left side of screen to turn right/left.
Once you enter the level, you will find a light blue triangle going forward. Clicking on the screen will cause it to turn. Clicking the left side will cause it to turn anticlockwise, while clicking right with result it turning clockwise. Use these controls to guide the triangle to eat all the white triangles. You will complete the level once all white triangles are eaten.
8 (6 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Find the ones with a blue centre.
Hint 2: Push the ones with a blue centre.
In every column of discs, one of them has a blue centre compared to the other discs. Identify the disc by tapping on them. Once you have found it, click it again to turn the corresponding column blue. Repeat this process until all the discs have turned blue.
9 (On Browser)[]
Hint 1: Hang, then pull.
Hint 2: Hang the 9 on the hook, then pull the 9 down.
Similar to level 3. Do as told.
10[]
All white triangles move the white triangles one space as well as themselves per tap on them.
11 (8 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Drag the bars in the correct order.
Hint 2: Drag the bars to form a wave.
Click on the bars and hold to move them. They should form a complete wave with no gaps if they are in the correct order, and you will move on.
12[]
13 (10 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: First button lights a random bar.
Hint 2: Go to that bar with the second button.
Click on the 1st button to light up one of the 8 bars on the screen, then keep clicking it until it is on the left edge of the screen. Then, use the 2nd button to flash it, and you can produce another bar with the 1st button. Note that you have to click the 2nd button several times to flash the new bar. Repeat until the whole screen is filled with bars.
14 (On Browser)[]
Hint 1: Keep touching the screen for a while, then release.
Hint 2: Keep touching the screen next to white blocks.
Hold on the screen to bring the white blocks to each other. When held for long enough, release to repel the white blocks away. Keep doing this until all the white blocks are out from the screen. One way to do this in one move is to hold the area at the left or right edge, then hold until the blocks won't retract any further. After that, release to send all the blocks flying off straight away.
15 (11 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Make a blue path by clicking on neighbours.
Hint 2: Click a neighbour of the last ball of the path.
Hint 3: You can visit the same ball several times.
Click on a black circle to start a blue trail. Then, click any black circle next to it to turn that circle blue. Repeat this until all the black circles have turned blue. Note that when you click on a blue circle on the path, it turns black again. And, you cannot change the colour of a circle that is NOT next to the current circle.
16[]
17 (12 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: First move the left fish above the bottom fish.
Hint 2: Then move the bottom fish 1 position up.
Hint 3: Then move the 2/7-ball away.
Hint 4: Finally, move the 1-ball away.
The fish function in the same way as on level 5. Do as told.
18 (13 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Name of the game.
Hint 2: Make BLUE.
Hint 3: Each letter is 2 pipes wide.
The pipes on the screen make the name of the game, BLUE. As Hint 3 says, each letter is 2 pipes wide. Click on the pipes to rotate them to form the word 'blue'. If done as told, you will move on once the screen turns blue.
19[]
20 (On Browser)[]
Hint 1: Start at the flashing cell and find a path.
Hint 2: Turn around the first cell, fill the 0, then the 2.
Hint 3: Find a path connecting all the cells.
Do as told.
21 (On Browser)[]
Hint 1: Hang 2 onto the hook, then hang 1 over the tail of 2.
Hint 2:Hook the 1 over the tail of the hanging 2.
Similar to level 3 and 9. Do as told.
22 (15 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: The symbols form a chain of arrows.
Hint 2: When arrow points left, press left button.
Hint 3: Do this for the complete chain of arrows.
Use Hint 2 as an example. Because there are some combinations that cause confusion, some sequences are shown here.
Arrows 4 and 5: Left, Right
Arrows 7 to 10: Up, Down, Right, Left
23[]
Click the corresponding squares according to the icon in the middle.
24 (16 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Name of the game.
Hint 2: Make BLUE.
Hint 3: Each letter is 2 balls on top of each other.
Each circle is a part of a letter. Imagine overlapping the two symbols. If they do not form part of an English letter, click the circles to rotate them 45 degrees clockwise until they do.
25[]
26[]
The right-facing triangles will each move itself and the others. However, while the top one acts the same way it did on level 10, the one just below moves 2 spaces for each tap of it, the one below that 3, and the bottom 4.
27[]
You will need all three buttons, for the second button now locks the current row's position instead of moving it back like in Yellow. Also, after locking in place, no new row may take that row with it.
28[]
Hint 1: Drag the blue box around to make it bigger.
Hint 2: Make big circles.
Do as told until the rectangle explodes and covers the screen in blue.
29[]
Left to move in the direction you are facing, right to turn right.
30[]
Can you fit something in something else?
31[]
This button is unique. It has a ring around it, so you must hold it to change anything. First, it changes the length of each box. Once you have released and held again, it will start changing the width. This process loops until all boxes take up the black of the screen.
32[]
Hint 1: Name of the game.
Hint 2: Make b l u e.
In case you don't recognize the letters, they are in cursive. You can view the full list of cursive letters at New American Cursive.
33[]
Essentially Black level 23 mixed with level 31 of this game.
34[]
Hint 1: Drag the block everywhere, but don't cross!
Hint 2: Find a path that doesn't visit areas twice.
For beginners, go all the way up, all the way east, down twice, then fill the rest of the first 3 rows without encasing yourself. Now, do the rest.
35 (17 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Use all pipes to make a path from start to finish.
Hint 2: The end is the pipe that does not move.
Hint 3: Try to start at the end.
This level has a similar concept to Plumber Duck on CoolMath. Connect the water source to the end pipe. No water will flow out of the water source until the two ends connect. Also, the end pipe is slightly shorter than the others.
36[]
37[]
Hint 1: Move the 3 in place and get the fish above it,
Hint 2: move the 7 all the way down,
Hint 3: then move the 7 and fish against the sides to align them
Hint 4: and move the 7 in place.
Do as told.
There is a Black Games (Saltuk Emre Gul) game called Seasons Puzzles | Mind Games & Brain Teasers that contains this level. The level is Fall 19. However, the H is horizontal and the characters are on the wrong sides.
38 (19 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Click a spot, a block will turn blue, click that block.
Hint 2: Click the new blue block after clicking a free spot.
The mechanic of this level is pretty straightforward. Basically, you press one blank blue pixel cell. Then, click the cell that had turned blue just now. This will make the cell you just clicked turn blue too. Repeat this process until all the cells are filled.
39 (22 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Name of the game.
Hint 2: Mirrored letters.
Hint 3: Click in the order: B, L, U, E.
All the symbols inside the cells are actually some mirrored letters. So find these buttons and click them in this order:
Button 1: Strikethrough 8, which is a B.
Button 2: Upside down T, which is an L.
Button 3: Rounded W, Which is a U.
Button 4(last): Strikethrough I, which is an E.
If done as above, the buttons will disappear and you will move on.
40[]
Like level 1, but with two mechanics: pressing the button makes the game move to the next ring, while holding it for roughly one second or so makes the current ring blue.
41[]
Three blocks can move with swipes: top middle, bottom left, and bottom middle (you can tell because the level number is 41). These blocks all move together, while the 4 remains stationary. First, remove the three movable blocks from the 4 and line them up vertically. Squish them together and move the stick over the white 1.
42 (18 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Drag and drop the fish tails.
Hint 2: Use the fish tails to cover the white space.
The tail of one fish covers the mouth of the fish opposite it. Do as told.
43 (23 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Move the top and bottom fish before the left fish.
Hint 2: Then move them all to the right.
Hint 3: Then use the up and down fish to move the 4/2 and 3.
All the hints above are just enough for you to finish the level. If you are still confused, look below.
Step 1:Move the top and bottom fish in front of the left fish's pathway.
Step 2: Then move the left fish one space to the right, and move the fish that is going up one space.
Step 3: Then move the left fish 2 spaces, and move the fish going down one space.
Step 4: Finally, move the white balls off the screen using the top and bottom fishes.
44[]
For some reason, though the screen is entirely blue, the level is not complete. Notice the marking around the 44. Rotate the fish into the respective orientations as shown on the marking. Then enlarge the square.
45[]
Hint 1: Calculator upside down.
Hint 2: Name of the game.
The puzzle is upside down. U is given. The others letters are part of leetcode (using symbols to represent letters).
46[]
Hint 1: Make waves.
Use your finger that slide up and down on the screen.
47[]
This is probably the hardest level in the game, especially for speedrunners. The first button goes through the English alphabet with the equation presses mod 26 (e.g. dividing 47 by 26 without decimals gives a remainder of 21, so the list selects a U). The second button then renders the current selection, changing the current column to the letter and moving to the next (if there is no input, nothing will output but the game will still go to the next column). Make BLUE.
There are also two easter eggs in this level: making GREY (European spelling only) or PINK will turn the screen that color. Other 4-letter colors such as RUBY, MINT, and GOLD do not work.
48[]
Hint 1: First try to get the fish in top or bottom hole.
Hint 2: After that you can align the numbers.
49 (24 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: The symbols form a chain of arrows.
Hint 2: When arrow points left, press left button.
Hint 3: Do this for the complete chain of arrows.
Note that the hints and mechanic are similar to level 22(15 on browser). However, the arrows only flash and not disappear once you press the correct button. To clear up confusion, the sequence is: Left, Right, Left, Right, Down, Left, Up, Down, Up, Down, Right, Up, Left, Right, Left, Right.
50 (25 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Open all the taps.
Hint 2: A tap is open when it is to the right.
Hint 3: Of course, upside down taps must be to the left.
Do as told, but keep in mind that upside down taps must be left, taps on the left side of a pipe must face up, and the taps of the right side must face down.
Bugs, Glitches, and Notes[]
- On level 4, if a fish has to collide with another one (specifically the top right one) twice, it becomes unusable, making the level impossible.
- For some reason, the buttons on level 49 on browser only can turn blue if you beat level 43 fast enough. To execute this, you need to go to level 23 and beat it quickly. Do not choose a previous level.
