Bontegames Wiki

Also, we're in need of images (why isn't there a template for that???)...

Duck is a Bart Bonte puzzle game that was loosely inspired by Nic Bettauer's book and matching movie of the same title. It was released on Kongregate in Aug. 02, 2008 [idk if that was it's first ever place] and, thanks to Kong's Ruffle integration, is still playable there. Also, like all of Bonte's "classic games", it is also playable via the Bart Bonte Collection as released on Steam and various mobile stores.

[more details? idk]

Levels[]

There are 25 levels in total, though many of these levels re-use concepts seen in earlier levels.

Level 1

The duck and two white balls appear. The duck moves with your cursor and 'collects' a white ball upon swimming over it. Do this to both balls to proceed.

Level 2

Three ducks appear and have their backs turned on you. Click on one to flip its rotation. Turn all three ducks towards you to proceed.

Level 3

Three ducks appear and start rotating. One is marked for you to watch. If you click a different duck after the "shuffle" the level will reset. Click the marked duck to proceed.

Level 4

A 4x4 grid of ducks appear. One of them is pink. Click the pick one to proceed. [i wanna make the word "pink", like, actually pink, but idk how]

Level 5

Same as level 1, but the duck's movements are inverted (you go up, duck goes down. you go left, duck goes right). The task is unchanged: collect both balls to proceed.

Level 6

A duck and 6 balls appear, 3 white balls and 3 pink balls. Task is the same as Level 1 with normal controls, but swimming over a pink ball will reset all white balls and itself (so steer clear of those). Collect the 3 white balls to proceed.

Level 7

A 3x3 grid of ducks appear and all have their backs turned on you. Click one to flip the rotation of that duck and its neighbors (diagonals not included). Turn all ducks toward you to proceed.

Level 8

A duck and 5 balls of varying size appear. The balls can only be collected in ascending order of size; collecting a ball out of order will reset all of them. Collect all balls to proceed.

Level 9

Same as Level 6, but with Level 5's controls. Collect all white balls (while avoiding pink balls) to proceed.

Level 10

Same idea as Level 4, but none of the ducks are a different color. The "odd one out" this time is winking. Click that one to proceed.

Level 11

6 ducks (3 yellow, 3 pink) appear on a ring of 7 spaces (3 yellow, 4 pink). Clicking a duck neighboring an empty space will have the duck move to that space. Arrange the ducks so that their colors match their spaces to proceed.

Level 12

Same idea as Level 3, but there are 5 ducks and they rotate at differing speeds that independently change during the "shuffle". Same task as before, click the marked duck to proceed.

Level 13

A duck and 9 balls (3 small, 3 medium, 3 large) appear. Task is the same as Level 8, though balls of equal size can be collected in any sub-order. Collect all balls to proceed.

Level 14

3 ducks appear. Clicking one will have it move to another location. Get the ducks in a row to proceed.

Level 15

A large duck appears. Dragging it away will reveal a normal duck with its back turned on you. Click it to make it face you, and thus proceed.

Level 16

Same as Level 7, but with a 4x4 grid. Turn all ducks towards you to proceed.

Level 17

11 ducks (6 yellow, 5 pink) appear on a figure 8 arrangement of 13 spaces (an incomplete ring of 6 yellow spaces linked to a complete ring of 7 pink spaces). Task is the same as Level 11. Put all ducks in matching spaces to proceed.

Level 18

Same as Level 9, but there are four balls of each color and duck's movement is only vertically flipped (e.g. up is down, but left is still left). Collect all white balls while avoiding pink balls to proceed.

Level 19

Same as Level 15, but there are 5 other progressively smaller "fake ducks" to clear out. Make the real duck face you to proceed.

Level 20

Same idea as levels 4 and 10, but now all ducks are winking. The "odd one out" is winking with the opposite eye as the others. Click that one to proceed.

Level 21

Same as Level 9, but there are now 5 balls of each color and duck's movement is only flipped horizontally (e.g. left is right, but up is still up). Collect all white balls while avoiding pink balls to proceed.

Level 22

A 4x4 grid of ducks (8 yellow, 8 pink) appear, all with their backs turned on you. The ducks are "paired" to eachother based on color (yellow, pink) and eye position (open, wink-left, wink-right, closed). This is basically a memory game (though the ducks of differing color may be a giveaway to some detail): click a duck to have it face you, then do the same for another. If the selected ducks do not match, both will turn away from you (this will NOT reset the level); if they do match, they will leave. Make all ducks leave to proceed.

Level 23

Seemingly the same as Level 19, but really no, it's kind of a troll. There are 3 fake ducks (curiously, the first one sometimes tilts a little bit when you drag it), but the real duck is not in their original position. In fact, there are three real ducks, each of which "spawn" under each fake duck after you drag them. Spawn all three real ducks and have them face you to proceed.

Level 24

Same setup and task as Level 16, but this time, clicking a duck will toggle all ducks in an X pattern (including the center) with practically infinite range. Have all ducks turn towards you to proceed.

This level can be a massive headache if handled poorly, so to spare you that, I'll just tell you the obvious answer in clicking the four ducks in the center and then the bottom/top two corners.

Level 25

A 3x3 area of dark blue spaces appear. Click one to make a yellow duck appear in that space. A pink duck will then appear in another space. Yep, this is tic-tac-toe. In the event of a pink victory or tie, the level will reset. Beat pink to win.

Win

And that's it! The final area turns the background black and gives you a glowing duck to play with as Bonte's "thank you" message scrolls past. ^_^

Trivia[]

  • Level 16 is functionally identical to a level in Fields of Logic (I'll get to that)
