Red is the sequel to Yellow and the second entry in Bart Bonte's colour series. It was released on January 17, 2018 on mobile and April 18, 2018 on browser.
Overview[]
This is the first and only one of two colors to include vocals in the OST (the other being the sequel).
Levels[]
1[]
Just keep pushing the button to make the screen red.
2[]
This level is an emptier level 2 of the previous game. Drag the red tip down. Three more will shoot from the bottom. If you let go, they will all quickly slide back into their resting positions.
3[]
Your pointer acts as a marker. Trace over (or technically erase) the Comic Sans R3D.
4[]
Hint: Push the buttons next to the black ones.
Not so fast! The black squares do not just invert through taps. Their red cardinal neighbors repel them. If one pushes a black square onto another, both move in that direction.
5[]
Hint 1: Snake.
Hint 2: Swipe and eat the other blocks.
Hint 3: Position the snake on the black bar
The level is based on snake. First, collect the red blocks with your character, which has a hole in the middle. Then enter from the left of the black sector and cover, since there is no red square on the left.
6 (3 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Hot.
Hint 2: Keep your finger on the ball.
Warm up the mercury in the thermometer by transferring the heat from the pressure of your finger to the bulb.
7 (5 on Browser)[]
Hint: Each button inverses another.
A rhombic What's Inside the Box? level 30. Imagine a line going from the top right to bottom left rhombus. When you tap a rhombus, the game reflects that rhombus over the imaginary line and inverts the corresponding rhombus (e.g. tapping top left inverts bottom right). No rhombuses invert back from not tapping pairs, so you can just continue.
8 (6 on Browser)[]
Hint: Follow the heart beat.
Every 2 seconds, the screen flashes red. Click it at/around this point to enlarge the heart. If you click 0.5 seconds earlier or later, it resets.
9[]
The first button moves a square east. The second button brings it down. When the square goes off-screen, it reappears on the other side.
10[]
Hint 1: Build a wall.
Hint 2: Don't tap on bricks!
Hint 3: Got a hole? Remove bricks first.
Click the screen to lay bricks, but be careful not to click an existing brick, as you will have to lay it again. If any bricks were on a higher level, you must remove those bricks to relay the original brick.
11 (7 on Browser)[]
Hint: Pairs.
Although this level looks like it has some path, it doesn't. You instead click matching arrows. If you fail to click a pair, the first arrow you pressed will turn black again.
12[]
Hint: A row of hearts from left to right facing up and down.
Top button if hearts in the sequence point up, bottom button for all others. Start from the left. The game will not tell you if your choice is correct; the screen only flashes with each press.
13[]
Hint 1: Tetris.
Hint 2: Make rows of black blocks to remove all.
A Tetris-like game with blocks instead of regular pieces. Swipe falling black squares to move them. You can not swipe them if they are not falling. Align seven squares on a row to remove them altogether. The level restarts if you block the spawn point for new blocks.
14 (8 on Browser)[]
Hint: Press until the next button is fully lit, then press the next button.
Find a button that fills another. Push it until the other button is full. Repeat for all four buttons. Pushing the wrong button, pushing a partially filled button, and overfilling a button WILL restart the level.
15[]
Hint: Attract and remove black buttons.
Clicking red squares attracts blacks as long as both are on the same line. You may merge black squares to remove one beforehand or remove them individually. Shift the last black square under the middle space.
16[]
A vertical Me and the Key 3—now on the Bart Bonte Collection but also still playable on GamesLOL—level 14 but on a 5-by-7 rather than a 6-by-9 board.
This is the first official level (Yellow level 45 does not count since this mechanic appears through a glitch) where the screen does not completely turn one solid color when you complete it and instead leaves it as is.
17 (9 on Browser)[]
Hint: Push the left button, then push the right button x times.
Left button fills the next row, use the right button to align with it. Pressing the left button twice or the right button too much will restart the level.
18 (10 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Push two buttons in the same row/column.
Hint 2: They inverse blocks in between.
Select any rhombus. Now, select another rhombus on the same diagonal to invert all rhombuses in between, including themselves.
19 (11 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Left button moves forth.
Hint 2: Right button makes a 90° clockwise turn.
20 (12 on Browser)[]
What's Inside the Box? level 60 with 25 squares. There is stilla 3-block delay, so when you have clicked all squares at least once, the last 3 are not filled, so you have to click them again in order (or click any 3 red squares).
21[]
Hint: You can't move all the way around.
Swipe the screen to paint it. There is a barrier at 2 squares horizontally from the start square and at 3 squares vertically.
22[]
Hint: Complete the bottom and top of 2.
Copy the top and bottom exactly on the other side.
23[]
Hint: Four buttons around the center move the square.
The four cardinal neighbors of the 23 move the red square. You can walk over your path.
24 (13 on Browser)[]
Hint: Top to bottom.
Press the left button if a heart in a group is pointing up (tip is pointing down). Press the right button if it is pointing down (tip is pointing up). Again, the screen flashes with each press, but now you will know if you did a group correctly because it disappears. If you see a segment that looks like an oval, press the right button, then the left button.
25[]
Hint: Walk up.
Imitate a person walking forth with your fingers (for PC players, click either side, then move the cursor up a bit and click on the other side). You do not need to maintain the length at which your fingers walk, but errors reset the level.
26 (14 on Browser)[]
Hint: Tap to start the loop, then tap to stop the loop.
A box will constantly expand once you press it (no need to hold). Press it again, and it stops expanding. When it tries to expand at peak size, it loops through the cycle again. Press it at its peak size. Do this for the others.
NOTE: There is a glitch on this level that causes it to be impossible even when all boxes have filled the screen. For this, you must back out of the level and try again. Or, you can reset all boxes.
27[]
The left button makes a red square trace over the bottom row. The right button makes all squares between it and the left edge red, including itself, and anything to the right of it black.
28[]
A vertical Me and the Key 3 level 21, except mirrored with less space.
29 (15 on Browser)[]
The 4 dark red squares move the current position of the 29 in the direction they are in.
30[]
Hint 1: Left button moves and turns.
Hint 2: Right button turns the other way.
Left button moves the square 1 space and turns it 90 degrees clockwise. Right button turns it 90 degrees counterclockwise.
31 (16 on Browser)[]
Full Moon level 2.
32[]
Replay the order Bonte's lenses flash 8 times. Messups restart the level with a new pattern.
33[]
Hint 1: Swipe to move and eat hearts.
Hint 2: End in a dead end.
Another Snake-like level. You grow once in length each time you eat a black heart. Trapping yourself before you have eaten all hearts restarts the level.
34 (21 on Browser)[]
A vertical Me and the Key 3 level 16. The spot is above the 34.
35 (17 on Browser)[]
Pressing a circle inverts the 4 surrounding ones, one at a time starting with the top right neighbor and moving clockwise, but not itself, so you will need to go back and fill them in.
36 (18 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Four arrows each direction.
Hint 2: Press arrows for each direction in a certain order.
Hint 3: The order is the direction of the arrows.
There are 16 rhombuses, each with 1-triangle arrows. You must click a set of 4 matches in order: from farthest from to nearest to in that direction. For instance, for the triangles pointing upwards, you must begin at the bottom and go up 1 rhombus each time.
37 (19 on Browser)[]
Hint: Rotate the letter parts into position.
The 3 rotary circles make up fractions of letters. Rotate them into upright position. When you complete the level, the letters show briefly.
38[]
Hint 1: Try dragging the things around.
Hint 2: Can you see boxes and holes?
The central upper chevron is actually a set of three holes.
Unlike the previous game, the hole glitch is not producible.
39[]
Hint 1: Name of the game.
Hint 2: Each letter has two parts, tap them in order.
There are four symbols: a vertical line, the Greek letter Xi (Ξ), a backwards capital C, and either a Gurmukhi (੨) or Devanagari (२) 2. They are parts of the letters that spell out the name of the game. Combine the line with one other symbol each time.
40 (20 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Find a path from end to end.
Hint 2: You can only eat neighbor hearts.
A "Walk Once" type puzzle. Start from one end and find a path to visit all hearts once. If you begin somewhere in the center, the level will become impossible since you will not visit one of the ends.
41 (22 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Image on button shows next button to press.
Hint 2: The dot is that button, the L is to move 2 buttons, then turn and move another button (like chess knight).
The Ls indicate a knight's move from their square's position. In other words, you move two spaces in a direction from the start, then turn and move another space. Click where you land. If you click while counting spaces, or if you click a wrong tile, the ENTIRE board resets.
42[]
Hint: Red, green, blue, transparency.
Yellow level 25 but also with an alpha (brightness) slider.
43[]
Hint 1: Name of the game?
Hint 2: Tap two pieces to swap them.
Click two cards to swap their places. When you mush the cards in a single column together, they should form an English letter.
44 (23 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Copy color of button to next button.
Hint 2: BUT the bottom button resets the level and inverts the background.
Hint 3: First copy red to the bottom button, then copy red to others.
A rather simpler What's Inside the Box? level 89 but also with an upside-down triangle that resets the level but also inverts the screen.
45 (24 on Browser)[]
Hint 1: Button inverses itself and neighbors.
Hint 2: Neighbors are horizontal then vertical.
Pressing a tile inverts itself and every first click, the two nearby horizontal tiles; every other click, the two nearby vertical tiles.
This is the first level on browser that does not completely turn one colour when the level is complete.
46[]
Contrary to what is implied by the hints, you do not actually have to kiss your screen. Just take two fingers and press both sides of the lips at once. Or, for the people who can't, hold one side of the lips and press the other.
47[]
Hint 1: Hopscotch.
Hint 2: Jump with your fingers from 1 to 2 to…
Hint 3: Jump with 2 fingers on 3 and 4…
Hint 4: At 8, return in reverse order.
48[]
Hint 1: Only press last two added buttons.
Hint 2: Press the two buttons at once.
Hint 3: ALWAYS Press the two buttons together.
A combination of Yellow level 49 and the key concept of the previous two levels.
49[]
Hint: The next button is not necessarily besides the current one.
This level is almost senseless. When you press a triangle, you have to move in the direction it points in but also be able to create a loop that covers all sixteen triangles. No triangle says how many times you move in that direction, so you have to analyze the board to come up with a solution—for instance, the one the game suggests: dot, 3, 15, 14, 6, 10, 9, 11, 7, 5, 13, 16, 8, 12, 4, 2.
You may deselect the current triangle and go back to the previous one, but pressing another previous triangle or one that is not in line with the current one in the direction it points reset the level.
50 (25 on Browser)[]
The level looks treacherous at first but becomes easy when you understand the logic behind it and that the order and format (mirrored or not) of the letters never changes.
For the first column, press the left lens if the letter is mirrored. Press the right lens if not.
For the second column, repeat the same instructions for the first column, but only for the R's.
For the third column, repeat the same instructions for the first column, but only for the E's.
For the fourth column, repeat the same instructions for the first column, but only for the D's.
For the fifth column, press the left lens for every "RED" in the sequence. Press the right lens for every "DER."
Trivia[]
- There is another game with the same name released in 2017 by Zenith Games. There are only six videos on it, and you can no longer download it.
- This game was hinted at by the prequel.
- Every level has its level number somewhere on it.
- There are several references to the level numbers in the level alone.
- Level 2 on Browser has 2 extra parts on the extreme edges of the screen, as monitors are longer, not wider (in area, length is the top and bottom, while width is the sides).
- This means there are 2 central parts on both mobile and browser. However, on mobile, there are 2 parts total not counting the middle 2. On browser, there are 2 parts on each side not counting the middle 2.
- There are 3 characters in level 3, and the font begins with a C, the 3rd letter of the English alphabet.
- There are 4 black squares on level 4.
- On browser, the level number appears to the left of the puzzle because there is not enough space to fit it like in mobile.
- Your character is at most 5 blocks long in level 5.
- There are 6 (3 on Browser) thick markers on the level 6 thermometer.
- If you look at level 7 such so the rhombuses appear squares, you will notice the longest row/column has 7 squares.
- There are 10 bricks on each half (upper and lower) of level 10.
- Level 14 requires 14 button presses before all buttons are red.
- Once you move on level 29, you have 29 spaces left to cover.
- Level 2 on Browser has 2 extra parts on the extreme edges of the screen, as monitors are longer, not wider (in area, length is the top and bottom, while width is the sides).
- This is the first color with complex graphics and the only one for a while until Pink's release.
- This is currently the only game with levels where you must tap two objects at once.
- When you finish the game, Bart Bonte will congratulate you. He then says red is his new favourite colour "after yellow…no, pink—I mean blue (or green)—Ah well, to be continued I guess." Those 3 colours are the names of the 6th, 4th, and 5th entries respectively. However, Bart Bonte is Belgian, and yellow, red, and black are the Belgian flag colours. Hence, black comes first.
- This is currently the only game with its level 36 seen on browser.
- This is also the only game with its level 13 not seen on browser.
- This game begins the trend of having levels 18, 24, and 35 seen on browser.
- This game continues the trend of having levels 11, 19, 20, 37, and 44 seen on browser.
- This game continues the trend of drawing levels.
- This is the only game featuring romance (hearts and lips). Though pink is also a common color for hearts, none of the levels feature it.
- The icon of this game has a darker appearance in the sequels' info cards.
